I offer therapy sessions based on evidenced-based approaches specialized in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).
Compassion Focused Therapy is a modern, integrative psychological approach founded by Prof. Paul Gilbert. It originated from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and was developed to help people that are self-critical and, as a result, face chronic psychological difficulties, such as depression and deep shame.
This therapeutic approach integrates scientific findings coming from neuroscience, evolutionary, developmental and social psychology, regarding how the human mind and emotions work, what circumstances affect us, and what can be helpful for overgrowing our problems and emotional difficulties.
One key element of the therapy is the co-creation of a therapeutic relationship based on acceptance, safeness, and cooperation. A basic component of CFT is the psychoeducation regarding the function of our minds, the way our emotions work, and how all these are shaped by our personal, social, and environmental experiences. Through this process you can understand your difficulties as a part of the common human experience and find helpful ways to cope with them.

The usual duration of a session is 50 minutes and are usually scheduled on a weekly basis. I offer brief therapy (10-12 sessions) or longer term (>12 sessions) based on your goals and needs.
